June 1, 2026 (in 3 days): New York: 22 NYCRR Part 161 takes effect, system-wide AI policy for all UCS courts

AI Governance Implementation

A productized consulting engagement for firms that need done-for-you AI governance. Four to eight weeks. Fixed scope. Fixed price.

Who this is for

Firms with 30 to 50 attorneys, multiple practice areas, multi-state exposure, or a complex AI vendor stack. Firms preparing for malpractice renewal that want senior involvement in carrier submission. Firms that don't have bandwidth to draft policy and run training internally.

What's included

Engagement

Four to eight weeks. $17,500. Productized scope, no hourly billing.

Beyond the engagement

Firms that complete the implementation can add an ongoing managed-service retainer at $2,000 to $5,000 per month for quarterly audit packets, state-opinion monitoring, training refresh, and carrier-submission support.

How this differs from the packet

The Carrier-Renewal Packet ships documentation: templates, drafted artifacts, audit reports. Consulting runs the project: vendor interviews, live training, change management, carrier-submission liaison. Firms that complete the packet's Firm-Implemented tier and need additional implementation hand-holding can apply the packet purchase as credit toward the consulting engagement; ask during the scoping call.

How we work

Engagements are led by Brian Alenduff, founder of Desired Path Consulting LLC, the North Carolina entity that operates this site. Brian was senior PM for web platform and internal tools at VSCO during its tens-of-millions-MAU subscription growth, and a member of Everlane's founding product team during international expansion to over 150 countries. At VSCO and Backbone, where he was director of product for web, that work included direct partnership with general counsel on cookie and tracking compliance, subscription auto-renewal regimes, and the consent UX and documentation those rules required.

Capacity is capped at two engagements per month so each firm gets the discovery, vendor diligence, and training-rollout work this scope assumes. The same primary-source verification standard that produces the tracker applies to engagement deliverables: every legal citation traced to the issuing court, bar, or rule before it lands in your renewal binder. If your firm's situation isn't a fit for the productized scope, we say so on the scoping call and point you to the relevant resource.

Scope your engagement

Tell us about your firm. We respond within two business days with either a scoping-call invite or a referral if we're not the right fit. The scoping call is 30 minutes and ends with either a written engagement letter within five business days or a clear no.

Not legal advice. This is a compliance documentation and implementation service for licensed attorneys. Strategic and rule-application calls remain with the firm's attorneys.
